Tonight is the 5-year anniversary of The Rub at Southpaw. If you are in Brooklyn tonight and want to dance your a$$ off at 1 of the best parties around, stop by. Then tomorrow, they will be at McCarren Park Pool spinning with Mark Ronson.

If you don't know about The Rub, they are a NY-based DJ crew consisting of DJ Ayres, Eleven and Cosmo Baker. Individually and collectively they have put out some very memorable mixes that are definitely worth checking out.

Because this summer is too damn HOT! I have a super busy day today in preparation for the conference on Monday, but I had to stop for a minute and reflect. Last night I was on the phone with Evan and he mentioned that the Beastie Boys were going on tour. He said I should go out to their show in Boston and then he can come to NYC for wherever they play. I said sure. Then this morning I get an email from Live Nation with this subject: Beastie Boys Play Two Dates in NY-On Sale Saturday! Oh man... it's on. August 8 @ Central Park Summerstage and then they play again THE NEXT DAY @ McCarren Park Pool. I hope to see you all there.

Hot Damn! Just when I thought this summer couldn't get any hotter... TVotR will be playing a FREE show @ McCarren Park Pool on July 29th. That is 1 day after Rock the Bells, too. They are in my top 5 favorite bands right now, and Return to Cookie Mountain is always a solid listen all the way through. Supposedly they put on a wild performance... peep some video here.
