Overheard at the conference...

"SURELY I WOULD NOT WANT TO SEE HILLY AND BILLY BACK IN WASHINGTON, D.C. - THEY ARE TWO LOSERS! ISN'T IT ENOUGH THAT THE MORON CLINTON WAS SCREWING MONICA LEWINSKY IN THE OVAL OFFICE? WHAT THE HECK WAS HIS NITWIT WIFE DOING? THEY ARE BOTH TWO AMERICAN LOSERS! WHAT A NATIONAL DISGRACE TO THIS NATION! BILLY AND HILLY, SHE SHOULD HAVE KICKED HIS ASS TO THE DIRT!"

TBA chatter quoted on Politico.com

"Hillary doesn't really understand how nutty the American public has been made by this administration. This is not rousing... this is like a wet noodle." -Jane Kleba

The article by Ben Smith appeared in Politico.com. It spoke about the audience's response to Hillary Clinton's speech today. It's great that Jane was quoted... she was an active guest in the chat rooms all 3 days of the conference). Ben also had this to say about the chat room audience, "The contemporaneous forum on Take Back America's website -- and it's worth keeping in mind that this is hardly Hillary's crowd -- was particularly hard on her."

The Clint-pranos/Hillary gets booed

Hillary's new commercial is really corny, even though Bill makes a cameo. It also brings up the sore subject of The Sopranos shit ending, which I still hate David Chase for.

Hillary also had a pretty boring speech today at TBA 2007... that is until she got booed for blaming the Iraqi government's failure to make tough decisions. Those boos quickly turned into cheers from her young supporters (who apparently were given free tickets to the conference). She also promised to bring all the troops back "When I am President!" I actually thought Kucinich was awesome today. The guy has so much conviction, and the best part is he doesn't speak in those terrible cliches i.e. "The other day I went to _____ (insert small town in Midwest here) and I spoke with a group of _____ (insert disenfranchised group of unfortunate souls here)."

I am having THIS much fun!

This conference has been amazing so far... and we are only halfway through!

Last night I got to see Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (MN), and Sen. Sherrod Brown (OH) talk about "The New Populist Energy." The session was mediated by Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation.

Today I sat front row for speeches by 4 Democratic Presidential hopefuls: Sen. Mike Gravel (AK), Gov. Bill Richardson (NM), Sen. Barack Obama (IL), and Sen. John Edwards (NC). Here is my analysis of these candidates: Gravel-so passionate, but nobody takes him seriously. Richardson-some great ideas, great speaker, but better off as a running mate. Obama-what can I say, he's a rockstar and hopefully our next President. Edwards-smooth, like his style, but is missing something... can't put my finger on it. Here is video of the first 2 speeches: Gravel and Richardson. Obama and Edwards should be up shortly.

Tomorrow is going to be a good one, too. Sen. Hillary Clinton (NY) and Rep. Dennis Kucinich (OH) will be speaking in the morning, followed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Festivities continue with Michael Moore (who will be talking about his new documentary, Sicko), an abundance of relevant and interesting sessions, and a closing rally by Howard Dean and Jesse Jackson.
